Lesson 7 of 7
In Progress

Eggggg Rolllll!

The tradition of rolling decorated eggs down grassy hills goes back hundreds of years. Children traditionally rolled eggs down hillsides, competing to see who could roll their egg the furthest.

The canine version? Roll your eggs along the ground and time how many seconds before your dog catches up with it. Create a ‘finish line’ (something on the ground to mark e.g. broom handle) and see whether your dog can catch up with the egg before it crosses that line.

Multi-dog version: roll an egg for each dog and see who catches up with it first! Avoid this completely if any dogs in your family have worries around food resources.

Did you know that the egg symbolised the rebirth of the land in Spring. We need plenty of that after all the winter mud so come on everyone, get rolling those eggs like you mean it!
